Just a short update concerning the VoIP communication. Against my earlier recommendation I am using Skype now. The main reason is the cheaper rate for calls to chinese phones (PC-PC is free) and that Skype is available for Linux now.
Sofar I am very happy with it, it's easy and works right out of the box.
